Stick to the basics and you won't be disappointed. Stray from them and you probably won't come back.
The service and atmosphere is the strength of this coffee shop. It's one of those places that locals go to in order to catch up on the latest gossip and community events.
The prices are very fair and the service is excellent because it caters to locals, but that also causes a problem with the quality of some food items.
Being a rural coffee shop they get a lot of things right. The traditional breakfast menu is spot on and excellent, but the non-traditional menu items are terrible.
Bacon, eggs, sausage, toast are the staples and they get them right, but once you stray into baked goods and sandwiches, you're going to be very disappointed.
Their version of a breakfast sandwich uses cut up and undercooked breakfast links for sausage patties. Their baked good are typically stale, dry, have too much soda and are wrapped in cellophane which makes them and the bland coffee an emergency use only coffee shop as you pass through.
I don't know if the issues are because the locals have no food experience, no taste buds or they're not brave enough to speak up about the things they do incorrectly, or the restaurant just doesn't care and tries to do things as cheaply as possible.
"Any port in a storm" isn't a business model. All it takes is competition to knock out greed and/or ignorance.
Love me some deep fried breakfast sausage.
Good coffee and very tasty cinnamon doughnuts!
